Paradise Reef: The World is Watching Documentary Premier- SilverSpot Naples, Florida

First day of Summer and I had the privilege of attending the world premier of "Paradise Reef: The World is Watching Documentary".  Here are some of my favorite photos of the night.

Here’s a summary:

One of the largest Artificial Reef projects in the Western Hemisphere is now a vital nursery for marine life as well as an attraction for diving, boating and fishing enthusiasts in Collier County, Florida. A new documentary film, Paradise Reef, follows a visionary’s quest to secure BP disaster funds, rally community support, and deploy 18,000 tons of concrete to create 36 artificial reefs along Florida’s Paradise Coast. Extensive underwater footage by world-renowned cinematographer Andy B. Casagrande explores the diverse habitat created by the reefs and offers a fish-eye-view of the life on the reefs one year later. Through captivating aerial footage and in-depth interviews, it also shows the symbiotic relationship between, and the natural beauty of the Everglades, the Ten Thousand Islands, and the Gulf of Mexico. It also includes interviews with Clyde Butcher, iconic Everglades photographer, Dr. Heywood Matthews, professor of oceanography and experts from NOAA, Rookery Bay, and many more.

The documentary will air on PBS/WGCU on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m.

Update: Here is the Naples Herald article from the premier on June 20th, 2016. Paradise Reef
